Once complete in mid-2024, the expansion will boost the number of parking spaces for commuters at the Modbury shopping complex by 500, taking it from 700 to 1200.

It comes as, earlier this year, paid parking was scrapped at Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre as a result of new legislation introduced by the State Government.

The new Private Parking Areas Amendment Bill 2022 ensures workers and customers in the northeast can work and shop without worrying about parking penalties with the hope this will boost small business spend in the community.
