Held from 28 June until 30 July, Illuminate Adelaide includes an exciting program of free and ticketed events by local, national and international artists.
A focal point of the event will be Mirror Mirror, an interactive and immersive experience fresh from its premier in Montreal. Housed within a purpose-built structure in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, visitors choose to enter one of three doors, starting a unique journey through cutting-edge digital technology.
From the creators behind Light Cycles which sold out at the past two Illuminate Adelaide festivals, Mirror Mirror includes a hall of mirrors and a 'river of consciousness' projection which ripples and reacts to each visitor's movements. It is open Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday from 10am-7pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10am-9pm. Tickets are from $36-$49.
Other Illuminate Adelaide events include:
- Base Camp – A family friendly pop-up bar and eatery hub located in East End Rundle Road Parklands, Rundle Park/Kadlitpina. Open for the festival's entirety, visitors can enjoy music, food, beverages, fire pits and a fun atmosphere. Base Camp Bar opens at 5pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends. Entry is free.
- Architects of Air: Arborialis - Running for three weeks from the 1-23 July, this Adelaide exclusive will see audiences’ step inside an inflatable maze featuring a labyrinth of colour, light and sound. Located in Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka, Arborialis is open each day from 11am, and entry is $15-$18 (children aged under two are free but must have a ticket).
- City Lights – Adelaide’s city streets will be transformed into a high-tech playground of lights, colour and sound as this free event returns in 2023, with all new installations, artworks and activations.
