Nuriootpa Primary School upgrade is the wheel deal

Nuriootpa Primary School's upgrade is now open.

Part of the project was the refurbishment of the school’s existing round-shaped building – like a wagon wheel – which accommodates up to eight classes on its outer edges, with the resource centre at the hub.

The upgrade was first announced in 2017 as part of the State Government’s Education Capital Works program and was officially opened in April.

“The flexibility that’s been created by this upgrade has been well-received by our teachers who’ve found it really easy to collaborate and team-teach by opening up classrooms and learning spaces,” said Principal Vicky Ireland.

The school, which was first established in 1977, has about 197 students from Reception to Year 6, as well as 25 staff members.
