Free transport for fans to Adelaide United matches

Reds fans will find it easier to cheer on their team this season, with travel across the Adelaide Metro network free for all Adelaide United games at Hindmarsh Stadium, thanks to a new partnership between the State Government and Adelaide United.

Starting with tonight's match against the Central Coast Mariners FC at Coopers Stadium, fans can travel for free on all Adelaide Metro buses, trains and trams, with a valid match day ticket.

Additional trams will also run after the match and the Royal Adelaide Hospital tram service will be extended to the Entertainment Centre, to help fans travel between the city and the stadium.

To celebrate Adelaide United's 20th anniversary, a special tram featuring some of the club's well known faces including Isaias, Cassio, Eugene Galekovic, Travis Dodd and Isabel Hodgson will be in service until mid-November.

Adelaide United Football Club CEO Nathan Kosmina said he was grateful for the State Government support.

"Coopers Stadium is undoubtedly the best football venue in the country and thanks to this initiative offering free travel across the Adelaide Metro network, match day will only become more accessible for football fans in South Australia," Mr Kosmina said.

Passengers are encouraged to visit Adelaide Metro to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip using the journey planner.

Meanwhile, as part of a new THINK! Road Safety campaign, players Lachlan Barr and Dylan Holmes will feature in new social media videos discussing the importance of road safety and fans at Adelaide United games will be reminded to Stick to the Speed Limit through in-stadium messaging.

These initiatives form part of South Australia's Road Safety Action Plan 2023-2025.
