Paving the way for next stretch of Coast Park

A 1.3km path is being constructed along the coast, between Third Ave in Semaphore Park and the Wara Wayingga-Tennyson Dunes Conservation Reserve in West Lakes Shore.

The concrete shared-use path will be about 3m wide, providing safe and convenient coastal access for people of all ages and abilities.

It is part of the Coast Park initiative, aimed at improving community access and enjoyment of Adelaide beaches by creating a continuous 70km-shared path, from North Haven to Sellicks Beach.

The final design for the latest section sought to minimise the impact on the dune system, native vegetation and local fauna, while maximising community benefit and reducing the impact on neighbouring properties.

Work began around mid-May and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

The next stretch of path, which will run between Grange and Tennyson, is in the design phase in consultation with stakeholders.
