If your idea of a good time is working through a packed program of art, music, theatre and comedy fuelled by delicious bao buns, fragrant curries and steaming bowls of noodles then the OzAsia Festival is practically heaven on earth.
The festival, a favourite among South Australian families, is now underway and this year’s jam-packed program, which runs from 24 October to 10 November, features more than 300 local, national and international artists from 12 countries, and will include seven world, four Australian and nine Adelaide premiere performances.
On the event's opening weekend, families can enjoy the return of the Moon Lantern Trail (pictured above), where more than a dozen giant lanterns will light up the night at Tarntanya Wama/Pinky Flat.
The free event, which will run from October 24-27, will also include interactive workshops, performances, giant puppets and delectable food.
A couple more fan favourites that are returning are AnimeGO!, a celebration of Japanese pop culture, and the Lucky Dumpling Market at Elder Park, which will serve up a delicious range of cuisines from some of SA’s local vendors.
This year’s lineup of ‘must watch’ performances includes Por Por’s Big Fat Surprise Wedding by Singapore Repertory Theatre, starring Crazy Rich Asians’ Koh Chieng Mun.
This unforgettable and hilarious dinner theatre performance will include a four-course Indian meal and a sparkling wine on arrival for attendees.
