Be part of change this National Reconciliation Week

A raft of events will be held right across South Australia to celebrate National Reconciliation Week 2023.

The theme for this year's week is 'Be a Voice for Generations', which encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives - where we work, live and socialise.

Events being held include:

A Little Bit of Justice - The Drawings of Charlie Flannigan - View the drawings of Charlie Flannigan, who was the first person to be hanged in the Northern Territory and became the centre of intense debate. South Australian Museum, May 5 -September 10.

National Indigenous Carnival - Tennis SA - A full day of tennis and celebrating Indigenous culture. The event is open for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to attend. Bookings required. The Drive, War Memorial Drive. North Adelaide, Sunday 28 May.

South Australian Film Corporation: Close to the Bone - film screening and Q&A - A special screening of the South Australian made documentary Close to the Bone followed by a Q&A with filmmakers. Bookings required. Adelaide Studios, 1 Mulberry Rd, Glenside, Wednesday 31 May.

More than 500 choirs and singing groups from across Australia will also come together in song to contribute to National Reconciliation Week.

They will share their performances of singing From Little Things Big Things Grow by Paul Kelly and Kev Carmody on social media and in real life, during the week.

National Reconciliation Week runs each year from May 27 to June 3. The dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey - the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.
