Best of SA tourism celebrated at awards night


From nature adventures to innovative festivals and unique accommodation, the state's finest tourism businesses were recognised at the 2025 South Australian Tourism Awards Gala Dinner held on Friday, 7 November.

Adelaide Botanic Garden (external site) (external site) (external site)topped the Major Tourism Attraction category, while the Chihuly in the Botanic Garden (external site) (external site) (external site) exhibition which ran from September 2024 to April this year won gold for Tourism Marketing & Campaigns and bronze for Major Festivals and Events.

SA's stunning regional areas were also showcased, with the Eyre Peninsula's Streaky Sounds Music Festival (external site) (external site) (external site) awarded gold in the Festivals & Events category, while businesses from the Fleurieu Peninsula (external site) (external site) (external site) made a clean sweep of the Excellence in Food Tourism category.Discovery Parks - West Beach Parks

Discovery Parks - West Beach Parks (external site) (external site) (external site), Adelaide Fringe (external site) (external site) (external site) , The Big Duck Boat Tours, Copper Trails Bike Hire, Spirit of the Coorong, Seppeltsfield Barossa, ibis Adelaide and d'Arenberg (external site) (external site) (external site) were each inducted into the South Australian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame after winning their respective categories for three years running.

Other winners included Monarto Safari Resort (external site) (external site) (external site) taking out New Tourism Business, and Woodhouse Adventure Park (external site) (external site) (external site) named best Unique Accommodation and Adventure Tourism. Tourism Industry Council of South Australia (external site) (external site) (external site) Chief Executive Shaun de Bruyn said the winners represented the "passion and authenticity" that makes South Australia "a destination like no other".

"These awards provide a platform to showcase the exceptional achievements, talent and innovation in South Australia's tourism industry," Mr de Bruyn said.

"I applaud the drive these operators have to deliver exemplary visitor experiences and set benchmarks for themselves."

More than 26 categories were showcased at the event, with a total of 28 first-time entrants achieving finalist status this year.

Winners from categories 1 to 26 now go on to represent South Australia at the Australian Tourism Awards, to be held in Fremantle, Western Australia in March next year.

South Australia's  visitor economy contributes close to $10 billion each year to the state while providing meaningful jobs for more than 40,000 South Australians.
