Plenty of family fun at DreamBIG Children's Festival

There's plenty of fun for all ages to be had at DreamBIG festival, like Fluffy, an interactive wonderland of swirling, fluttering recycled paper.

Visitors to this year's DreamBIG Children's Festival, which runs until Saturday 27 May, can choose from more than 50 shows, activities and exhibitions, all focused on the theme 'Our World'.

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director Douglas Gautier AM said the event was a place of celebration, joy and wonder.

“The world’s first children’s festival, DreamBIG has inspired the children of South Australia for decades," Mr Gautier said.

"We look forward to sharing this year’s program with the next generation."

Formerly known as Come Out Festival when it began in 1974, DreamBIG Children’s Festival has two programs – one for schools and another for families and the public. It is held every two years and is presented by Adelaide Festival Centre.

DreamBIG Children’s Festival has this year attracted more than 23,000 bookings from more than 195 schools, including 29 who are travelling from regional South Australia to attend the event.

It is the largest children's festival in Australia.

The event's BIG Family Weekend was held on May 20 and 21 and featured free events for children of all ages.
