Preventive Health SA is seeking community feedback on the draft South Australian Alcohol and Other Drug Strategy 2024-2030, which aims to prevent and reduce harm from alcohol and other drugs. The strategy focuses on five priority areas: health promotion, disruption and supply reduction, early intervention, treatment and support, and community engagement. Feedback is particularly sought from current and former users, their support networks, professionals in the field, and those interested in harm reduction.

Public feedback is now open for the draft Commercial Kangaroo Management Plan for 2025-2029, which proposes five key changes to prioritise conservation and animal welfare during emergencies, introduce flexible kangaroo surveying, maintain harvest quotas based on risk assessments, allow additional eastern grey kangaroo harvesting, and expand the Hills and Fleurieu harvest sub-region.
The plan aims to regulate sustainable commercial harvesting while ensuring long-term conservation. Reviewed every five years, it is based on the best scientific knowledge and management practices.

Feedback is now being sought on proposed updates to the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995, to provide clarity to parties responsible for cat management. The amendments are proposed to update the powers for cat management in key areas of the state including areas used for primary production, State National Parks and reserves, and provide a clear process for councils when managing seized cats and enabling lost cats to be returned to owners.

Northern Water is investigating the option of a seawater desalination plant in the Spencer Gulf at Cape Hardy, to address the limited sustainable water supplies in the Far North and Upper Spencer Gulf regions of South Australia and encourage growth of the industries crucial to achieving net-zero goals. Feedback will help identify management measures to reduce risk and enhance local community benefits.
