Torrensville Bowling Club will move into a new $9.6 million premises next to the Thebarton Community Centre, to allow for the final section of the North-South Corridor.

The club's new home will feature a new state-of-the-art 12 rink bowling green, new clubrooms and car park, and the reassembled  canopy from its current base on South Rd.

Torrensville Bowling Club president Brenton Rolton said the announcement was a great result for the club's members.

"It is the outcome we've been asking, waiting and hoping for since this South Rd project was first outlined," Mr Rolton said.

"As one of Adelaide’s oldest lawn bowls clubs, it’s important to us and the community to retain our independence and heritage.

"We’re definitely looking forward to moving into a purpose-built new home that will retain the best elements of our current base – it’s a terrific outcome."

The club will relocate to its new home on a 7000sq m site bounded by the River Torrens, Dennis Mutton Drive and Murray St by 2025.

The River Torrens to Darlington Project will complete the 78km non-stop North-South Corridor, between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.
