Where to catch a New Year's Eve fireworks display


As 2024 draws to a close, New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to come together and reflect on everything that makes South Australia a spectacular place to call home. From the state being named the nation's best to do business to Adelaide being crowned the world's most beautiful city and our wineries scooping prestigious international awards, it has been a spectacular year for South Australia.

Below is a list of some of the best places to ring in the new year. It goes without saying that fireworks, food and fun will be involved.

New Year’s Eve in the City

Elder Park / Tarntanya 

Celebrate New Year's Eve at Adelaide's free riverbank event. Enjoy firework displays at both 9pm and midnight, live music, family fun and food and drink offerings. Bring along your picnic rug, your family and friends, and enjoy the festivities!

Semaphore New Year’s Eve celebrations

Enjoy live bands performing on a main stage, DJs and roving entertainment, as well as two fireworks displays and light shows that will illuminate the night sky at 9.30pm and midnight. A wide array of food trucks along the Esplanade will make sure nobody goes hungry.

Drakes Copper Coast New Year’s Fireworks

Wallaroo Foreshore

Expect an exciting evening with fireworks displays at 9:30pm and midnight to welcome 2025. A stunning lighting display on the Illuminated Silos will also mark the midnight celebration. Local food vans will serve hungry revellers on Heritage Drive, Wallaroo, until 1am.

Stansbury New Year’s Eve Fireworks

Stansbury Boat Ramp

Stansbury Progress Association hosts fireworks every New Year's Eve out from the Stansbury Boat Ramp on the Yorke Peninsula. The fireworks will start at 9:30pm and can be viewed from many vantage points around the Stansbury cliffs and foreshore.

An amazing fireworks display at 9.30pm, plenty of activities for the children and food vans service up treats from 5pm will make sure there's something for everyone at this Yorke Peninsula hotspot.

Port Pirie New Year's Eve party

Not only is Port Pirie renowned for having the best fireworks display outside of Adelaide - to be staged at 9.30pm - this year's celebration will also feature a huge live concert headlined by Summerfield. Rising country music star Caitlin Drew and popular entertainer Tom Barratt will also provide entertainment. Festivities will include market stalls, food and refreshments, face painting, roving circus acts, rides, showbags and carnival games.

Robe New Year's Eve Fireworks

Guichen Bay and Robe Foreshore

The holiday hotspot of Robe will be lit up by its annual fireworks display from the town's breakwater at 9.30pm.

Victor Harbor New Year’s Eve celebrations

Warland Reserve

Warland Reserve will come alive with live performances from 7:30pm, carnival rides, mini golf fun, free face painting and a free petting zoo. Fireworks will light up the sky at 9:45pm and then again at midnight, to bring in 2025.

Port Lincoln New Year's Eve

Tasman Tce

There will be plenty of family fun on the beach lawns from 5pm, with two big fireworks displays at 9.30pm and midnight.

Port Vincent Gala Day

Marine Parade | 1 January

The first day of every new year marks Gala Day at Port Vincent, when the main foreshore section of the town is closed off and becomes a fairground for the day, from 2pm-9.30pm. There will be plenty of fun on offer, including a sandcastle competition, entertainment from the Amazing Drumming Monkeys, and fireworks at 9.15pm.
