South Australian exports have hit record highs this year – up 17.6 per cent to $17.6 billion in the 12 months to July 2023, according to ABS data.

China, the US, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines are the top five destination markets for SA exports, driven by a strong increase in grains, metals, petroleum and nuts.

More than 250 South Australian businesses entered this year’s awards, which recognise the outstanding contribution businesses make to the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of our community.

The winners from the state awards will now progress to the Australian Export and Investment Awards to be held in Canberra on 30 November.

Business SA CEO Andrew Kay said competition was fierce with more than 600 nominations submitted for the awards.

“What's unmistakable is the impressive growth of innovative and high-performing businesses in South Australia,” Mr Kay said.

“To all the winners of the 2023 South Australian Premier's Business and Export Awards, my warmest congratulations."
