Tasting Australia set to return in 2024

The best of South's Australia's food and beverage will again be on show when Tasting Australia returns in 2024, from Friday 3 May to Sunday 12 May.

Record-breaking crowds attended the 2023 festival, with more than 68,000 people visiting the CBD hub Town Square in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.

Tasting Australia co-festival director Karena Armstrong said the event, which was established in 1997, was a "cornerstone of the state’s culinary story".

"Tasting Australia is a very special showcase of South Australia’s food and beverage – it tells the stories of our produce, producers and regions to people from around the world," Ms Armstrong said.

In 2023, there were events held across Adelaide and regional South Australia which supported more than 250 local businesses.

Town Square featured a brand-new space called The Dining Room where intimate Chef’s Table events were hosted. There were also free storyteller events with some of the festival’s top names like patron Simon Bryant, Christine Manfield, Paul Carmichael and Justin James.

More than 150 events took place across the state including an overnight trip to the Flinders Ranges with Tasting Australia Airlines and a special collaboration between Chin Chin and Yalumba in the Barossa.

"The festival program is designed to create lasting memories through food and beverage experiences – once-off moments that are unique to Tasting Australia," Ms Armstrong said.

"The creative team and I are so thrilled to see the growth of the event each year with more and more people getting involved and experiencing what Tasting Australia has to offer.

"Planning for 2024 is well underway and we can’t wait to share what exciting and delicious new events we have in store."

The 2024 event program will be announced later this year.
