BreastScreen SA now offers online bookings through its website for a free breast screen at one of its 11 metropolitan and regional clinics.
And with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it's more convenient than ever to book, what could be, a life saving appointment - which takes as little as five minutes and can be done at any time on any given day.
More than 1400 South Australian women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
It is one of the most common causes of cancer deaths in women and increases in frequency with age, with 1 in 10 South Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 75.
BreastScreen SA provides free breast cancer screening to more than 90,000 South Australian women every year.
Research shows that women who have regular breast screens reduce their chance of dying by up to 41 per cent.
BreastScreen SA Program Director Niamh Wade said the online booking platform was an "exciting improvement" that clients had been asking for.
"This platform has been two years in the making and is the largest step in increasing access to the program since the mobile screening units hit the road in 1991," Ms Wade said.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is held each October by Breast Cancer Network Australia to draw attention to the ongoing impact of breast cancer on those diagnosed and their supporters.
The theme for this year's event is 'Living Well, Your Way', to highlight that a breast cancer diagnosis looks different for everyone.
Earlier this year, BreastScreen SA started including information about an individual's breast density in its detailed reporting. Dense breast tissue is linked to an increased risk of breast cancer.
BreastScreen SA provides free breast X-rays every two years to women over 40, with the aim of diagnosing breast cancer at an early stage, before it can be felt.
To make a free appointment, go to BreastScreen SA and click the 'Book Now' button or call 13 20 50.
