Check out these five major projects and the investments being made to ensure new and better infrastructure continues to be built for the benefit of all South Australians.

Torrens to Darlington project

Estimated $15.4 billion l Due for completion in 2031

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project is the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor – one Adelaide’s most important transport routes. Once complete, the 78km non-stop motorway will run from Gawler to Old Noarlunga.

As part of the T2D project, motorists will bypass 21 sets of traffic lights between the River Torrens and Darlington as they travel through two separate tunnels, connected by an open motorway. This will save up to 40 minutes in peak-hour traffic.

The tunnels, with three lanes in each direction, will be created between Richmond and Torrensville, and Clovelly Park and Glandore.

Main construction on the project, being jointly funded by the state and federal governments, is expected to start in 2025 and be finished in 2031.
