Make a trip of it and head to Whyalla to witness one of nature's most extraordinary events as tens of thousands of Australian Giant Cuttlefish gather to breed. Get up close to these fascinating marine creatures either by snorkelling, diving or on a glass-bottomed boat tour. Cuttlefest celebrates this unique migration, with on shore activities including markets, art, workshops and family-friendly activities. A highlight is the Salty Sea'esta on the June long weekend at the Whyalla foreshore.

This month-long festival celebrates the annual migration of whales to the Fleurieu Peninsula. More than 30 events will be on offer, from exhibitions, to live music, a lantern parade and thought-provoking talks. At the heart of it all will be the ancient story of Kondoli - the whale from Ngarrindjeri Dreaming who gave fire to the people.
