Head along to inclusive Lunch on the Lawns event

The public is invited to Government House this Friday (December 1) for a Lunch on the Lawns event that will be as accessible as possible so everyone can share in the fun.

Attendees of Lunch on the LawnsPeople are encouraged to head along to Government House between noon and 2pm, to enjoy lunch in the picturesque grounds while being entertained by DJ Georgia.

The free event will feature a designated quiet space for people who need a place to reduce their sensory stress.

The Shine Like Gold CafĂ© (pictured below) – an Australian-first initiative thatImage of the Shine Like Gold Cafe provides young people with autism an opportunity to build real-life practical skills through paid employment - will be on site to provide food and drink.

As part of the International Day of People with Disability celebrations, special Government House garden tours with an Auslan interpreter will also run on the day, from 10.45am-11.45am.

Bookings are required for these tours and can be made by emailing governors.office@sa.gov.au.

The Lunch on the Lawns events (pictured above) are held on the first Friday of each month between September and May, from noon-2pm.

They are part of Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC and her husband Mr Rod Bunten’s aim to make Government House a place where South Australians feel welcome and are able to visit.
